On Monday, July 6, I attended the wake of William Smith that I anointed before his death at the hospital.   In the evening I attended the Baptism Class that was led by Dick and Sharon Feller.

On Tuesday I met a candidate for RCIA classes.   In the afternoon I celebrated Mass at Sun set Park Place.   In the evening Andrew and I hosted the priests and seminarians from the Cathedral of St. Raphael for a cookout.

Wednesday evening I watched my great-nephew play baseball in Epworth and later watched Wahlert win their baseball game in Farley against Western Dubuque.

After Mass and confessions on Thursday I joined seven friends for golf in Waterloo.   In the evening I joined friends in Waverly at a retirement party and spent the night with friends returning on Friday morning.

Friday afternoon I was able to visit and anoint one of our parishioners.

On Saturday Andrew and I trained two new Mass servers.   In the evening after Mass we shared a meal with Sr. Sharon Bosler, OP who gave the annual mission co-op appeal for the Adrian Dominicans.

On Sunday I was able to bless Ray & Irma Sadler on their 60th wedding anniversary and John & Monica Daly on their 35th wedding anniversary.   In the afternoon I drove to Cascade to celebrate the 4th birthday of my great-niece, Leah.

In the summer months we sometimes get a little lazy about our prayer life when we are in vacation mode.   Remember it is not a good idea to take a vacation from God and prayer.
