Change of Assignments for Parish Priests

As was announced during the Masses on the weekend of March 24 & 25, Archbishop Hanus has decided to make changes in the assignments of both of the priests currently assigned at Nativity Parish.  Effective July 10, 2012, Fr. Gross and I will serve the Archdiocese in the following capacities:

 Fr. Robert Gross

  • Associate Chaplain, Loras College
  • Vice Rector, St. Pius X Seminary at Loras College

 Fr. Scott Bullock

  • Pastor, Nativity Parish
  • Rector, St. Pius X Seminary at Loras College
  • Judicial Vicar, Archdiocese of Dubuque

Fr. Gross will thus be leaving us this summer.  Since he will be beginning an advanced degree in Spirituality at Creighton University, he will complete his time of service at Nativity with the Masses on the weekend of June 2 & 3.  I take this occasion to once again thank Fr. Gross for his generous service over this year.  It has been a short time of service—but most appreciated. There will not be any priest assigned to replace Fr. Gross—but who could ever replace him?

Fr. Gross will be changing his residence as well.  He will relocate to Vianney House seminary residence, to live with our fine future priests who are studying at Loras College.  My residence, for the time being, will remain too at Vianney House.  However, over the next months, we will be considering where will be the best place for my residence

We are grateful to the Archbishop for these new assignments.  We rely upon your prayerful support during this time of transition.
